Tuesday, Feb. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) “BIG BROTHER” GOES NUTS FOR “JERICHO!”“Big Brother” Houseguests to Receive Information From the Outside World Contestants from CBS’s BIG BROTHER will face-off in a JERICHO-themed “Power of Veto” competition on Tuesday, Feb. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Loss of communication with the outside world is an issue facing both contestants inside the BIG BROTHER house and the citizens of the CBS drama JERICHO. During the broadcast’s veto competition called “Communication Breakdown,” BIG BROTHER Houseguests will put their communication skills to the test for the chance to gain information from the outside world. As they battle for the “Power of Veto” on Tuesday, BIG BROTHER couples will search through thousands of pounds of peanuts in order to find their hidden color-coded cables and restore communication by correctly connecting the cables along their utility poles. The first couple to get all of their cables arranged and connected the right way will win the “Power of Veto,” giving them the ability to remove a couple, or themselves, from the chopping block. After the winning couple is declared, all of the Houseguests will get to view headlines that will be shown to them on a ticker tape style machine. The message will contain tidbits of news from the outside world, including a mystery headline that gives a clue to the upcoming JERICHO episode.

[Info from Karim Zreik] Status of Jericho - 2/21

(This is a blogged version of the post I made on the CBS Jericho Message Board here:

http://jerichoboard.cbs.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=CBSMBJericho&tid=20964)

———————————————————

After reading the article on SyFyPortal (and posting my thoughts on it), I wanted answers like everyone else.

So I emailed Karim Zreik, Jericho’s co-executive producer and asked him if there is any word.

I was very fortunate that my email caught him between meetings, and he was kind enough to give me a quick call back just now and provide me with some information to pass along to you all with his permission. (only delay has been in the time to type)

Here is what he had to say (he also wanted to get the word out to everyone - so please pass along):

  • He and Dan Shotz do the final edits on the episodes - No one from CBS has called them or any one at Junction / Jericho Production and asked to have the “alternate” ending put on episode 2.7
  • SciFi has not contacted Junction about Jericho
  • CBS has not cancelled Jericho - In fact they are calling with support for the remaining 5 episodes, continuing to run ads on CBS, going to WonderCon, and other things.
  • CBS is promoting the h*ll out of these next episodes.
  • As a part of CBS’s belief and commitment to Jericho, its doing a tie in with Big Brother this coming week with the Jericho episode airing on Tuesday (2/26) - BB house guests will have a task to do related to Jericho.; This is a major deal - CBS wants to promote Jericho however it can and wouldn’t do this if it didn’t believe in the show.
  • CBS’s #s for all its shows on Tuesday night are down - and Big Brother is doing horrible (on many nights)
  • Because of all of us and the “Nuts” campaign, more reviewers and journalists are watching and reviewing the show than ever (much better than in season 1) - The reviews are coming back AWESOME for this season. This is a lot of good press that we all helped make happen.
  • A lot of the points about new media and alternate viewing platforms we have been making are coming to light - Jericho’s position on the iTunes chart is great (for both episodes 2.1 and 2.2). The numbers CBS is seeing from views on innerTube are great.
  • DVR #s very encouraging - Jericho continues to perform well as one of the top DVR’d shows which they knew from season 1 (schumi’s comment - sorry was not able to ask for more specifics on this, whether he mean just Tivo, all DVR or what)
  • I also asked about the winner of the Season 2 premiere contest when he mentioned WonderCon as one of the many effort CBS is making to promote the show. - Karim did not know if they could post the winner information and there might be some concerns with releasing personal information. He mentioned that back in season one, they were not able to release the name of the winner of the morse code contest until the winner had received their prize (a trip to the set). (schumi’s comment - sorry, was not able to ask any further information on this either, but I’m sure if they are able to they will ask CBS to post something.)

Finally he said he, Dan, Carol and others talk every day and have been extremely busy. CBS is behind Jericho and committed to promoting it so it can succeed.

And he wanted to thank everyone for all the efforts to get the word out about the show and everything else people are doing.

I’m going to send him a link to this thread so hopefully he can take a look at it after his meetings and see if I missed anything from our quick conversation. Will let you all know if there is more.

TO KARIM: Thank you.

Jericho Stars Brad Beyer and Alicia Coppola Say Thanks to Fans

Monday night, Jericho Actors Brad Beyer (Stanley Richmond) and Alicia Coppola (Mimi Clark) dropped by the CBS Jericho message board and left notes of thanks and encouragement to the Jericho fans.

Both thanked the fans for bringing the show back and encouraged them to get as many people to tune in again starting February 12th when the second season begins airing. They also tantilizingly heralded the quality of the 7 new episodes.

From Brad Beyer:

“… I can honestly say that these next 7 episodes are the best we’ve ever done. We never would have had the chance to come back without the awesome support of the fans, so keep up all the great work! … “

From Alicia Coppola:

“… As an actor, I am lucky to even get a job. Then I am lucky that someone even watches the thing I am in. To have been on a show as truly wonderful as Jericho is, is gift enough. To work with the people I am fortunate to work with is a blessing. To have fans like you all who cared enough to even watch the show let alone work tirelessly to bring us back is just plain flooring. …”

Jericho Opinion Featured on the Front Page of Hey! Nielsen

One of the opinions written about Jericho is now shown on the front page of Hey! Nielsen where the site displays “Featured” opinions. This is a great way to reach people who don’t watch or follow the show because its displayed amongst other topics and users do specifically have to browse over to the page for the show.

Everyone should head over there and at least rate Jericho (click on button next to the show name) and react to the opinion there. But its also a fantastic way for us all to communicate why we love Jericho or to impart some other information about the return on 2/12. So if you can, in addition to rating and reacting, please leave a comment on this opinion so non-fans can see why we’re all NUTS for Jericho. Hey if you’re so inclined - head over to the page for Jericho and leave an opinion of your own.

Featured opinion can be found here: http://www.heynielsen.com/opinion/view/new-video—-first-table-read-for-season-2/
